A 3-color weathering pastel set for recreating sand, mud, dust and other grimy conditions.
Conventional pastels require a file to grind powder, but weathering pastels can be used right after they are removed from the bottle. Apply these pastels as is on a model to get that grimy effect.
What's more, before painting you can further improve adhesiveness by diluting these pastels with our separately sold new Water-based Hobby Color Thinner.
This pastel set is perfect for capturing the look of grime, dust, and mud. Because it’s already in powder form you can apply just the amount you need without having to spend time and effort filing. Use these pastels to achieve a realistic grimy appearance for your projects by applying as is with a brush or mixing them with thin water colors for modeling.
Usage Method:
1. Use a flat brush to apply pastel powder to the surface.
This replicates the appearance of a surface with sand or dirt attached.
Caution/ Pastel powder is not fixed at this stage; so do not touch the surface.
2. Dilute pastel powder with “Water based hobby color thinner” and apply it on the surface with a flat brush.
The powder is fixed once it has dried, but do not touch the coated surface

Muddy Expression: Dissolve it with the Aqueous Color Thinner and rub solution with a brush or swab |
